Advocating for the Maine Lobster Industry

The Maine Import-Export Lobster Dealers' Association consists of lobster dealers statewide who convene and communicate in order to keep the Maine lobster industry sustainable, viable and profitable. Our groups consists of processors, shippers, retailers and wholesalers and we represent the critical connection between harvesters and consumers. The vast experience held by our members in the realms of marketing, pricing trends, historical supply and industry demand makes our group's cooperation critical for any legislative, conservation or enforcement efforts.

The Maine Lobster License Plate

The work of our group made possible $800,000 in funds dedicated to the research, education and development of the Maine lobster industry through the creation of the lobster license plate. Many of our members serve on various boards associated with commercial lobster fishing in Maine, including the Maine Lobster Promotion Council and the Maine Lobster Research, Education and Development Board. The MIELDA is committed to keeping Maine lobster sustainable and Maine's working waterfront thriving.
